IndexUniverse rebrands as ETF.Com
IndexUniverse, the leading ETF news and information provider, and the sponsor of the largest ETF conference, the Inside ETFs conference, has announced that it has re-branded from its name that it used for the last 10 years, IndexUniverse, to ETF.COM, a super-premium ETF domain name that it acquired not too long ago.
Some of you who closely watch the ETF space might remember that the domain name ETF.COM was put up for sale back in June of 2011 for $9.5 million but we believe that IndexUniverse actually paid a much lower price for this best-of-breed domain but we speculate that it still was a 7-figure number.
Marketwatch quoted Jim Wiandt, IndexUniverse’s CEO and founder as explaining the reasoning behind the purchase “It’s much easier to remember now,”. Anyone who has followed the trailblazing growth that IndexUniverse has achieved in promoting the ETF industry has to realize that Wiandt and his team are ahead of the curve when it comes to marketing in the ETF industry. It is a matter of time that the chief marketing officers at the leading ETF sponsors realize the value of a good and memorable domain name when it comes to promoting their niche ETFs. The main reason we built this website is to showcase the many unique and memorable domain names that can be used by ETF sponsors to promote their ETFS and raise their AUMs.
